The recent Spring 2021 Visitor Tracking Study by Visit South Walton is based on 500 internet and in-person surveys with Spring visitors who traveled to South Walton between March 2021 and May 2021. Due to the abnormal nature of Spring 2020 as a result of COVID, comparisons are made to Spring 2019. Interviews were with out-of-county guests who stayed at properties/vacation rentals at beach communities across South Walton, and at various locations along the beaches.

Santa Clara Regional Beach Access has reopened after being closed for several months to allow for boardwalk and dune walkover replacement. The access in Seagrove Beach is one of the most popular in SoWal with quite a bit of parking, restrooms and a shower. The ADA accessible ramp is nearly equal to a football field in length and allows a descent to the Seagrove sand from quite a height on the top of the dune cliff.
Walton County offers a variety of Beach Driving Permits, Charter Fishing Permits and Dogs on the Beach Permits for Walton County landowners and/or residents. The procedures for applying for and receiving a permit are outlined and dictated by the Walton County Beach Activities Ordinance 2021-03. Our little road on the SoWal Coast along the world's most beautiful beaches has gained national notoriety as the newest scenic drive in the National Scenic Byways Program.
The Walton County Planning Department will conduct three workshops to discuss the Proposed Walton County Mobility Plan. There are two identical sessions on February 2nd at 1PM and 6PM, both focused on the Scenic 30A Corridor. There is a third session on February 4th at 6PM, focused on Miramar Beach and other parts of South Walton.
