My dad never met a stranger but he was hard on me. Very stubborn man. I don't think he liked me very much. My mother the same way. It was like you say kind of a sin to be friends with you kids. I did not like their methods of raising kids. They seriously provided very little emotional support and very little physical support. They beat the hell out of us. Insulted the hell out of us. I tell you this because I know we humans can be better than the previous generation. In your case I am not so sure

Thats how you raised men back in the day. Would you say that method raised more men that were ready to handle the world or is todays 'my kid is my best friends method' better? I believe in the old school

What solution? I have a few friends and family just like you. Every conversation ends up in fight of who is right. My ideals of common ground and civil behavior is sadly just a fantasy. Your group is too far gone. If I can't connect to people that are my own blood and friends that use to have each others back then there is little hope. Once you go down the path of "will fight to the end for my principles" there is just no return to any desire to find common ground. Maybe two years ago I had the time and energy to try and convince you that life is too short to live and die for foolish principles but I have seen and heard just about enough of the BS. I have argued with Poppaj about this very thing. He was right. I was wrong. It is a very unfortunate reality for America. We are divided and there is NO solution! We will fight and our quality of life will deteriorate for all of us...
