I'm usually not a fan of Oprah's Book Club, but Cane River by Lalita Tademy was excellent...

I read "AMLP" right when it came out, really loved it. I've had "Leonard" sitting in my room for months now, just not feeling it right now. So glad for James' success, though. He's a friend of a friend of ours, and we've exchanged a couple of emails. I think the association with Oprah just rocked his world!

i was just reading all about this on the smoking gun ? sounds like someone may have a vivid imagination, huh? i wasn't familiar with the book or the content since i never have watched oprah, but if he made all this up, some psychological counseling is definitely in order

Eek, and the story is on the welcome screen on AOL...! Big trouble, James, big trouble. It is the nature of most addicts to be liars, though; not saying that as a judgment, it's just the nature of addiction. So, I guess it's totally possible.
