Seaside REP Presents “Den of Thieves” through October 20th

Maggie is a shoplifter looking to change her life. Paul is her sponsor in a twelve-step program. Flaco is her charismatic but jealous drug-dealing ex-boyfriend. Boochie, Flaco's girlfriend, is a topless dancer. When this unlikely squad bands together to steal $750,000 in unprotected drug money they become prisoners in a mob boss' basement. Told that they have until sunrise to choose one person to die and three to donate their thumbs, the four engage in verbal gymnastics as they struggle for self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-love in a high-octane battle for survival.

Patchouli’s Boutique 20 Year Celebration and Open House October 18

Patchouli’s is proud to announce its celebration of 20 years in business on Scenic Highway 30A.  For the past 20 years, Patchouli’s has offered highly sought after products from around the corner to around the world. Patchouli’s began as a dream Linda Boswell had to open a soap shop by the beach. In 1992, Boswell moved from California to make her dream a reality, by opening Patchouli’s in Seaside, Florida. Her vision quickly grew into a neighborhood favorite for bath and body decadence. Visitors and locals were enchanted by the fragrances flowing from the open doors of the boutique shop.

A+Art Committee “Top of the Class” Exhibit and Opening Reception October 19

Celebrating its second year, the Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) "Top of the Class" exhibition will be on display at Northwest Florida State College-South Walton Campus, from October 19 – December 7.  The art exhibition features 30 new, original works by local artists. 

To launch the exhibit and announce the cash awards, the CAA is hosting an opening reception on October19, 2012 from 5 - 7 pm at the South Walton Campus of Northwest Florida State College.
 

Back to Nature: Scenes of South Walton Art Show at Hidden Lantern Gallery October 18-November 4, 2012

As part of the 11th Annual Back to Nature Festival, The Hidden Lantern Gallery in Rosemary Beach is hosting the Scenes of South Walton Art Show. They have 12 very talented, local artists giving their interpretation of Florida's beauty. It will feature art inspired by our magnificent coastal landscape.
 

Seaside Community Yard Sale Fall 2012 Video

The semi-annual Seaside Community Yard Sale is a blast. Everyone loves a bargain and the excitement is off the charts. Some vendors arrive at 3:30 AM to set up and the first shoppers arrive earlier than the early bird to get the worm. You never know what you might find, from a funky piece of local art, to a bolt of fabulous fabric, to a cranky old fishing reel.

Luminaria Run at Sandestin to Benefit Shelter House December 8

Shelter House Domestic Violence Center and Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort are teaming up for the 2nd Annual Luminaria Run at 5 pm on Saturday, December 8. The course will be lined with more than 2,000 luminarias, lighting the path for the walkers/runners and representing how Shelter House and its community partners light the way to a safer place for victims of domestic violence in Okaloosa and Walton counties.     

Seventh Annual Camp Helen State Park Ghost Walk and History Tour on Oct. 13, 2012

Ghosts, spooks, pirates and witches will be hanging out at Camp Helen State Park, Saturday, October 13th. Everyone is invited to join them for an adventuresome evening of continuous storytelling and historic re-enactment from 5:00pm – 8:30pm.
 

The seventh annual Ghost Walk and History Tour, hosted by the Friends of Camp Helen, is suitable for children. New stories, pre tour entertainment and activities are being planned for this year’s event. Costumes are encouraged and flashlights are recommended. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
