Walton County Earth Day Festival and 5K Race April 16-21, 2012

This year over 1 billion people in 192 countries will participate in events all over the world to celebrate Earth Day. How and where will you join in and make a difference? Emerald Coast residents here’s your chance and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is the place.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, the University of Florida IFAS Extension, Florida Sea Grant, and Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invite you to the 4th Annual Walton County Earth Day Festival & 5K Race on April 21, 2012.

Throughout the week leading up to the Earth Day Festival, April 16-20, there will be many activities being offered within and outside of the park for adults, youth and the whole family.

Then join us on the 21st for a wonderful day of activities at the Walton County Earth Day Festival which will kick-off with a Beach Clean-Up at 8 A.M, where you can pitch in and help clean up the gem of the Emerald Coast.

The festival starts at 10am, this FREE event will include: children’s activities, educational games, sustainability demos, music, guided hikes, a silent auction, food and fun for all ages. Many agencies, local artists, and area businesses will be on hand to educate and entertain festival-goers. The 5K Race will start at 4 P.M. and the event will end with a star gazing opportunity led by the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association.
