Magic For The 21st Century on Stage in Seaside This Summer

Magic for the 21st century comes to South Walton this summer as magician Jeanette Andrews returns to the stage in Seaside, Florida. Andrews presents a new and thought-provoking take on the art of the impossible with classic pieces and new magic that is sure to have everyone talking.

Perceive is an evening majic performance taking place on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. (May 30-Aug. 30) at The Seaside REP Theatre. A special Majic Matinee performance will take place on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. The magic shows have started on the Seaside Repertory Theatre stage and will run through Aug. 30. Jeanette will also hold a Magic Academy for children of all ages throughout the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon at the theater.

Perceive: Jeanette Andrews - Saturdays and Sundays 8 p.m. In this one-of-a-kind performance experience, Andrews will present both interactive pieces of magic and illusions choreographed to music.Inspired by ideas about the importance of perception, this show is composed of a distinctive blend of magic with an elegant feel, and explores ideas based in Jeanette’s studies in psychology and art. Watch as an audience member’s thoughts become reality, a signed card transports across an impossible distance, a member of the audience is able to surmise Jeanette’s thoughts, and a white rose spins to life.

Jeanette Andrews Magic Matinee – Tuesdays at 11:00AM In this fun and interactive magic performance for the whole family, nationally-acclaimed magician Jeanette Andrews presents a new take on the art of the impossible. Magic Academy for kids with Jeannette Andrews will take place every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12 p.m. at the Seaside Repertory Theatre in Seaside. Sign up and learn tricks, special effects, secrets of magic, and confidence in your skills. Classes for two age groups.

Magic Academy with Jeanette Andrews – Ages 5-7 – Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. All new class! A great introduction to magic for children ages five through seven, with all supplies included. Jeanette Andrews presented her first magic show at age four and performed her first paid show at the age six; join Jeanette in this class as she teaches some of the first magic tricks that she ever performed. Effects taught in these classes are special pieces of magic, specifically chosen for their uniqueness to this class. Students will learn several age-appropriate magic tricks including: making a quarter disappear and instantly reappear and being able to instantly sort the colors in a mixed up pile of beads! Whether you attended class last year or it’s your first time,

Magic Academy with Jeanette Andrews – Ages 8-14 – Thursdays at 12:00PM All new class! This workshop is an excellent introduction to magic for those new to the art, but also for kids with prior experience looking to build their repertoire. Kids learn not only how to perform the effects but also how to begin to craft routines that suit their style and personality. Effects taught in these classes are not your average magic kit finds, they are special pieces of magic, pecifically chosen for their uniqueness to this class. Students will learn several magic tricks including: being able magically sort a shuffled deck of cards and how to make a friend’s roll of the dice coincide with an incredible prediction! Nationally hailed as “an inspiration,” and “magic for the twenty-first century,” Jeanette Andrews presents a new and thought-provoking take on the art of the impossible. Jeanette presented her first magic show at age four, began performing professionally at age six, and now as a full-time magician, she has performed for thousands across the country live and countless others on television. Jeanette comes to the REP fresh off of performances the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and her world premiere of Thresholds commissioned by the national landmark Pleasant Home museum. She was a 2014 Escape to Create Artist in Residence in Seaside, the only magician worldwide to have ever been named to an artist in residence position.
