WCSO:
ROAD CONDITIONS REMAIN UNSAFE FOR DRIVING WEDNESDAY MORNING
Overnight, Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a semi rollover on Interstate 10 westbound near the DeFuniak Springs exit ramp.
No injuries were reported.
Just minutes before the crash, a deputy assisted a stranded motorist in this location.
Temperatures dropped quickly following the snowfall yesterday. Roads across the county are icy and unsafe. Our agency is encouraging residents to stay home and off the roads.

Per Florida Department of Transportation:

IMPORTANT I-10 CLOSURE ALERT: Effective 7p.m. EST tonight (Jan 22), Interstate 10 (I-10) will be CLOSED in both directions from the Alabama/Florida State Line to Exit 192 (U.S. 90) in Gadsden County due to remaining snow, ice, and water on the roadway combined with incoming hard freeze temperatures overnight resulting in icy and dangerous conditions on bridges and roadways. Please seek alternative routes until further notice.

With conditions changing rapidly and bringing unexpected circumstances, stay put and off the roads for your safety. Remember to heed all local and state guidance.

Per Florida Department of Transportation, Interstate 10 from the Alabama state line to Tallahassee is closed. Multiple government agencies warn of the significant danger on the roads tonight due to melted snow freezing in temperatures expected to dip to 15 degrees.

...not only were single-day and event snowfall records broken for many Florida Panhandle locations, but the state snowfall record was also broken with this system as 10” of snowfall was recorded in Milton. This more than doubles the 4“ state record set in 1954.

Crestview: 9.0 inches
Baker: 8.5 inches
Auburn: 8.0 inches
Postil: 7.8 inches
Fort Walton Beach: 7.5 inches
Eglin AFB: 6.0 inches
Wright: 5.0 inches
Destin: 2.8 inches

HIGHWAY 20 DOWN TO ONE LANE NEAR STATE HIGHWAY 81 IN BRUCE DUE TO ICE
Walton County Sheriff's Office has temporarily shut down the eastbound lane of Highway 20 in Bruce due to ice after a semi-trailer briefly got stuck in the area.
Expect delays, drive slowly, and use extreme caution as first responders attempt to exchange east and westbound traffic in the westbound lane of travel.

From WCSO:

WESTBOUND HIGHWAY 90 BLOCKED AT STATE ROAD 285 IN MOSSY HEAD

Due to multiple semi-trucks currently blocking Highway 90 in Okaloosa County, Highway 90 westbound is blocked at State Road 285 in Mossy Head.

Walton County Sheriff's Office will be redirecting motorists down State Highway 285 to Highway 20.
There is a lot of congestion on the road folks. We ask unless absolutely necessary to stay off the roads for your safety.
