I'm thinking about reviving my long-dormant interest in kites - particularly stunt kites. Is there a store anywhere from FWB to PC that sells kites and related gear? Most importantly, I need someone knowledgeable about it.

There are lots of great sources on the web, but I'm looking forward to talking to someone who knows their stuff until I get up to speed.

well, I don't know about a specialty store, but I do know the little toy store in Seaside carries a wide range of kites and gear. from cheapies to rather expensive fancy ones. I think Kim, owner, could tell you about them. she's carried them for a long time.

can't even think of the name of the store, but its the one by B&A's, just east of Perspicacity (gulf side).

There is a kite store in Destin on the right going towards Ft. Walton. It is probably about a mile or so before you reach the bridge. I don't really know their inventory or there name. You could probably call the chamber of commerce and find out before you made the drive.

i've got a 6' foil, and 3 or 4 peter powells. i have another PP on the line to acquire. i need a line on some tails though.

OK, I've googled and Wikipediaed Peter Powell but not having any luck finding retail sources.

Out of production and collectible now, right?

Do they fly better than most?

And thanks to all for the replies. I'll check out the store in Seaside, Get in the Wind in Destin, and Kitty Hawk kites over on Okaloosa Island and post some notes when I do.
