Wow, check this out:

Looks like they couldn't get it without a height variance. Maybe they could use the cargo hold as a convention/wedding space.

That would be a unique wedding experience!
I see that the shuttle story is in the Facebook feed for SoWal and it has gotten one "like" so far.

It's hard to picture unless you see it for real, but they really aren't as big as people think they are. They are about the size of a fat DC9 with stubby wings.

Maybe the Sowal TDC can turn it into a cheesy restaurant like Russia did to their Buran (shuttle ripoff) when it became apparent that it would never go into space!

ok, I bit since the folks at the Air Force Museum at Wright (as in Wright Brothers) Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH have set their sights on acquiring a space shuttle for display there...they could display it on the runway with the retired Air Force One
