And besides - aren't you just jealous?

Our society only permits you one or two weeks a year of freedom to pursue your own agenda. The rest of the time we are slaves to the system. Hippies reject the 9 to 5 lifestyle and therefore are objects of ridicule by those whose lives run by the clock. Programmed people are jealous and resent the freedom we possess. The unmitigated freedom that hippies represent is the greatest threat to any system in which control equals power.

Love the hippy chicks  .

As well you should! I am a card carryin' hippie and proud of it. I mean, what's so wrong with wanting a little peace, love, mutual acceptance, and a better environment? Plus, most "hippies" I know today are productive members of society with houses, jobs, kids, refreshingly positive outlooks, and are the most helpful, generous and genuine folks you could ever hope to know . Heck, beyond that, hippie chicks are the cutest! Just look at my best friend Samantha...yowsa! She's a few years younger than me, but it just goes to show you, they're still making hippies... :clap_1:

We have an organic grocery store in our neighborhood staffed mostly with hippy chicks. Needless to say I do most of the shopping   :D .

Well, I was in high school in '68, so you can probably figure the rest ;-) The shorthand term then was "freaks". Even then, though I more of a composite - like freak, geek, with some Texan and Steven Seagal, blend well (be mellow, think fast, and speak softly, but carry a Big Stick - to disuade those who confuse "mellow" with "target value")... :D

I think most of us from that general period quickly figured out change could only be rationally effected from the inside (of whatever), and a degree of compromise was required to go that route. Plus - I do like nice stuff ;-)
