Isn't 395 through the state forest?
It and our other existing north/south roads are sufficient. They will need to be widened soon. At least the northbound lanes. It would be a good idea to include wildlife underpasses also.

Our current roads were created in a world where developers were not completely in charge of our government.

What does it mean 1-cent tax? Is this a deceiving way to hide a 1% sales tax. That's a lot of money.

Correct it will raise our current sales tax rate in Walton County from 7% to 8% for 30 years.

So the only question is why can't our current taxes and current government handle our existing and new roads?

Is it becasue they want to do major projects like connector roads through the state forest, bypasses, etc.?

And if so why not raise funds from developers who want the roads?

Someone is using their influence to shove through the connector road. That connector road is the vast majority of funding laid out by the transportation planning committee.

They will get a surprise when they find people chained to trees in front of their bulldozers.
