I have to buy a new iron & need recommendations, please

I've been through a million irons it seems (I like to wear linen so I actually iron as much as our resident Iron Queen ). I've bought everything from Rowenta to General Electric and I've killed them all! I therefore say buy the "Best Buy" that Consumer Reports recommends even though Rowenta is THE name in the business. Irons don't last: go for performance over reputation since soon or later you're going to drop it off the iron and mortally do it in.

Mermy and I are iron killers. :funn:
(Although, the Delonghi would have it's own pedestal base cemented into the ground )

Thank you everyone for your contribution. I appreciate the time you took to share your opinions. After all consideration, I think the Rowenta wins! Thank you again. I can't wait to throw my "Shark" in the trash bin and plug in my new Rowenta!
