Fishing in oyster lake

Hi, I'm new to the forum. My family will be visiting in a few months and will be staying next to Oyster Lake. Can you fish in there? Is it fresh water? Is there a place close by to rent a paddleboard? Thanks for any assistance.

it's brackish water and very shallow around the edges. Your best bet bank fishing will probably be along the bike/pedestrian path along 30a and possibly from the causeway bridge on the east end. I've heard of bass, speckled trout and some redfish being caught there. I'd throw a beetle spin or redfish magic (spinners). I wouldn't eat anything out of there though.

There is a nice small craft launch at the end of East Hewitt Rd only about 2 miles from Oyster Lake. Would be a good place to put in a kayak or other small craft. The flats to the right of the launch will have specs and reds. good luck

To clarify, the launch referenced is to the bay and not Oyster Lake.
