I've heard good things about Van Cam in Destin.

yes, she did the alterations for one of my neice's wedding party...and she was wonderfully patient, kind, and competent...everyone was very happy.

Hi-Tech Cleaners (next to Movies by the Sea in the Watercolor Publix shopping center) has an excellent seamstess. She also does jean hems the proper way -- she cuts them to length and sews the original bottoms back on so they don't look like hemmed jeans.

She also does really good work on bed spreads.

Good to know. Does she actually work there? I mean, is she the one doing the hands-on pinning for the alterations?

The family that owns the dry cleaners next to "Movies by the Sea" do a great job with all their services. The guy's sister is Chi who owns the salan on back beach road(Panama City Beach Parkway) just before you cross the Hathaway Bridge.

??? :dunno: Denim has a sewn hem because it's heavy, and hand hems tend to pull out easily.
