Bode Miller Pretender or Contender??

Hey Sowal...how about that Bode Miller. 0 for 5 in this Olympics. Do yo think he partied too much, didn't train enough, or do you think he blew it on purpose just to "show everybody" up?

No matter your perspective--he is a strange and controversial dude. Thoughts??

OK, here are my 2 cents.
I think he is an example of what happens when you don't practice/train hard enough. A good (bad?) example for our youth today. Quit talking and just do it.
But, did the media hype him too much??

From what I read about him, he "doesn't play well with others"- as in, was going to do everything his way, not the team way. Won enough to make everyone overlook his flaws before he made the team. He struck me as strong willed, immature, arrogant, and careless, but his personality was engaging enough to pull him out the muck. Now I wonder what the next step will be.

Back to my other post- the media totally ruined the Olympics for me by focusing too much on the juicy and titillating stories. Bode's partying generated more news than athletic happenings.

Isn't skeeve a little harsh? I looked it up on Urban Dictionary:
SKEEVE-
(verb) to gross out; to digust; to make your skin crawl, sometimes with undertones of sexual deviance/perversion. It really skeeved me out when he ate the gummy bear off the floor in the movie theater.

IMO, Bode skeeves me out big time. There ain't nothing cute or hot or sexy about him at all. But I know, it's what makes us all different, etc. Each to his own. ;-) (Besides, Apollo would be too short for me!)
