From what I read about him, he "doesn't play well with others"- as in, was going to do everything his way, not the team way. Won enough to make everyone overlook his flaws before he made the team. He struck me as strong willed, immature, arrogant, and careless, but his personality was engaging enough to pull him out the muck. Now I wonder what the next step will be.
Back to my other post- the media totally ruined the Olympics for me by focusing too much on the juicy and titillating stories. Bode's partying generated more news than athletic happenings.
