Walton County School District & Special Olympics Florida - Walton County Host Field Day May 20

In the spirit of cooperation, the Walton County School District and Special Olympics of Florida - Walton County, is hosting a Field Day event Monday, May 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Emerald Coast Middle School located at 4019 U.S. Highway 98. The event will allow Walton County school students to experience the benefits of Special Olympics sports training and competition.
In addition, the event organizers are extending an invitation to older athletes throughout the community to attend the Field Day as spectators. They will meet volunteers who will be onsite to talk to athletes and families about the sports program and how they can get involved with Special Olympics Florida - Walton County.
Walton County Special Olympics needs help from the community. They need coaches, volunteers and supporters to assist in the success of the program! You do not need previous coaching skills, but you must have the willingness to help athletes realize their goals in training and competition. Throughout the summer, Special Olympics Florida - Walton County will conduct workshops to train coaches and volunteers in preparation for the fall sports season.
No prior experience with Special Olympics is necessary to volunteer; it’s a great activity for families, civic groups, churches, coworkers and friends.
