Tee Off at 3rd Annual Fore Her Golf Tournament Oct 10

Time to tee up and golf at the 3rd Annual Fore Her Golf Outing, Oct. 10, 2015 at Emerald Bay Golf Club. The course includes multiple water features and views of the bay as it winds through the community of Emerald Bay. The recently completed extensive redesign of the course positions Emerald Bay at the very pinnacle of the Destin area golfing options.
 
"It really does amaze me to see the community come together and support so many charities," said Amy Walsh, Founder of Fore Her. "The support is never ending. It makes me proud to live here."
 
The day of the event will include a fun filled 18 holes of golf, entertainment by David Seering, food samples on the course, hole in one prizes, breakfast before tee off provided by Sunset Bay Cafe, lunch after the outing and a silent auction. 
 
The silent auction is open to anyone. The public is invited to join the fun, have a drink and bid on silent auction items including:

New to this year's outing will be the helicopter golf ball drop sponsored by 30A Television. When you purchase 3 balls they are assigned to you in numerical order of being sold (i.e. you buy numbers 100, 101, 102). All numbered balls are put in a big bucket and flown by helicopter then dropped onto a designated area on the driving range at Emerald Bay Golf Club.
 
The ball that goes in the designated hole wins $1,000 cash or 25% of the gross sales of golf balls, whichever is greater. The two balls closest to the designated hole without going in will each win $250 cash. If a ball doesn't go in the hole, then the ball closest to hole wins $500 cash and the next two closest win $250 each. You do not need to be present to win. 
 
Funds raised from sales of golf balls for the helicopter drop will help breast cancer patients and their families in financial need. Purchase one golf ball for $20 or three for $50 at www.foreher.org.
 
Keeping with tradition, golf carts at the outing will have big bras attached to the front. At the Dress Like a Girl Hole, golfers will tee off wearing a tutu, tiara, boa and bra and may opt to hit from the ladies tee. Klear Kanoe and Electric Cart Company are each sponsoring a hole in one with a Klear Kanoe and a pink golf cart up for grabs. 
 
Check in and registration for the 3rd Annual Fore Her Golf Outing begins at 8 a.m. and the shotgun tee off is at 9 a.m. Cost is $85 per player; $340 per team with all proceeds benefiting Fore Her. 
 
Fore Her is looking for 5 more sponsors, including a swag bag sponsor, drink cart sponsor, driving range sponsor (where the golf ball drop sponsored by 30a Television is being held) and putting area sponsor. Volunteers are also needed and will receive breakfast from Sunset Bay Cafe on the day of the outing. 
 
"It's a lot of work, but it's a lot of fun along the way to see the event and the community come together," said Amy.

Fore Her raises funds through their signature annual event, the Fore Her Golf Tournament, to provide financial assistance for breast cancer patients and their families. The women have the freedom to use the money however they see fit and can choose to remain anonymous. No strings attached. 
 
"Last year, the woman that we helped saved her money for Black Friday weekend so she could buy Christmas gifts for her children and a washer and dryer," said Amy. 
 
The non-profit's vision includes giving the community an opportunity to serve by donating their time and services to breast cancer patients in need, whether by putting new roof on a home, maintaining a patient’s lawn while they’re away receiving treatment or by providing travel resources so patients can spend time with their families.
