Shades Bar & Grill in Inlet Beach Popular with Locals & Visitors

After a very productive morning last week, the SoWal crew headed over to Shades Bar & Grill for lunch.

A SoWal staple since 1994, Shades definitely didn’t disappoint. In fact, they just won Emerald Coast Magazine’s Best of the Emerald Coast award for Best Sports Bar of 2019!

We started off with a few appetizers. The pan seared lump crab cake was delicious with large pieces of crab meat and a chipotle aioli drizzle, and the tuna dip with lavash could have been my whole meal! Some other appetizers on the menu include volcano shrimp, Asian lettuce wraps, and chicken nachos.

During happy hour, select appetizers are half off, as well as $5 wines & cocktails, and $1 off select beers. Happy hour is every day Monday through Friday from 3-6. If you can’t make it by 6, don’t worry, Shades has you covered with specials every night of the week including Margarita Monday, Taster Tuesday, Wine Wednesday, and Local Pint Night Thursday!

Our main courses were just as tasty. It all looked so good that I couldn’t decide what to get, but I ultimately decided on the chicken jalapeño wrap. With large chunks of grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and fried jalapenos, the wrap was really flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I was even able to bring home leftovers!

Our group also ordered the shrimp & avocado salad, the white flatbread and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. If you’re looking for some lighter fare, Shades offers a great salad menu and the flatbreads can be made on a cauliflower crust. Looking to indulge? Try the fried grouper sandwich, the shrimp Poboy, or the jambalaya!

Shades is one of THE spots in SoWal to catch your favorite teams. The restaurant and bar have 17 HD big screen TVs, two projectors, and all the premium packages! You can even bring the whole family and the kids can play in the game room while you sample any of the 46 beers on draft that they serve. During football season, check out their NFL Spirit Days. Every Sunday from 11am to 11pm and on Mondays 30 minutes before & after the game, Shades has a few awesome game day deals including specials on pitchers of select beer and $5 shots of Jack Daniels.
