National Drive Electric Event at Destin Commons Sep 15
September 6, 2018 by SoWal Staff
For the third year, National Drive Electric Week is celebrated at Destin Commons with a one day event presented by Nissan LEAF, the exclusive automotive sponsor of National Drive Electric Week. The National Drive Electric event is scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10AM to 7PM and is expected to be larger than previous years.
National Drive Electric Week, September 8-16, 2018, is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more. They are fun to drive, are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles, are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Those interested in "going electric" are highly encouraged to attend.
Attendees can expect a variety of vendors to include:
JuicedCar, Gulf Power, EGO Power Plus, SunFarm Energy, Emerald Coast Science Center, Coastal Powersports, Pedego Electric Bikes 30A, Ecco Motors, Natural Awakenings of NWFL, The Environmental Committee of the D.E.C. of Okaloosa County
Electric drivers are always welcome at Destin Commons since the center itself features four, FREE L2 charging stations and the nearby Whole Foods has four additional, FREE L2 charging stations.
"Destin Commons is proud to host the National Drive Electric event once again this year. This event provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of electric vehicles, showcase the positive impact on the environment, and to inspire people to consider purchasing a zero emission vehicle. People today are more conscious than ever of creating a better, cleaner world for future generations and electric vehicles are part of the equation in which we will achieve this goal." - Brooke Zannis, Marketing Manager, Destin Commons
Event organizers are looking for volunteers to work the National Drive Electric Booth, and those interested in attending, volunteering, and/or registering are asked to visit the event website at https://driveelectricweek.org/event.php?eventid=1230
