Mosaic Glass Artist Mary Hong Announces Fall Art Workshops
October 16, 2013 by Jill Tanner
A professional artist for more than 20 years and a glass artist for the past 13, Mary Hong is now sharing her passion for glass and unique techniques through instructional workshops. The upcoming "Glass Art Meets Canvas/Board" workshops are themed for fall and the holidays. The October classes will feature fall designs and marine life, and the November and December classes feature holiday-themed designs, including angels and Christmas trees.
"It has been so rewarding sharing my love of art with students of all ages and skill levels," said Mary Hong. "I have been blessed with many incredible teachers in my life, and it has been a natural progression for me to want to teach and share my passion with others."
The two-hour art workshops require no previous mosaic art experience and are well suited for all skill levels. The "Glass Art Meets Canvas/Board" workshop includes a brief lesson on composition, how to use glass cutting tools, and teaches participants to design and create original glass artwork on a 12″x12″ canvas or a painted wooden board.
