April 23, 2024 by SoWal Staff
The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-Up Tour, the first-ever traveling luxury retail event, will be making its next stop at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin for eight weeks May 24-July 19.
This will be the third time that the Bal Harbour-based luxury shopping location, a favorite celebrity-loved destination in the most northern tip of Miami Beach, has chosen to take its extremely coveted luxury experience on the road with previous stops in Raleigh, North Carolina and Sarasota, Florida. For the first four weeks of the Pop-Up, esteemed brands such as Assouline, Balmain, Cremieux, Dolce and Gabbana, Etro, Golden Goose, Santa Maria Novella, Silvia Tcherassi, Tiffany & Co., Veronica Beard, and Vilebrequin will be available to shop, while the last four weeks will feature brands including Addict, Balmain, Bonpoint, Eleventy, Golden Goose, Lanvin, Marie France Van Damme, Orlebar Brown, Scanlan Theodore, and Tiffany & Co.
“We’re thrilled to bring the tropical luxury shopping and dining experience of Bal Harbour to Grand Boulevard in South Walton for the first time,” said Matthew Whitman Lazenby, President and Chief Executive Officer of Whitman Family Development, who also has a second home in South Walton. “With this roving Pop-up, we introduce a new and innovative solution at the crossroads of high-touch personal service and high-tech logistics to deliver on our mission and impact and impress our guests with our distinctive level of excellence.”
The Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-up features a fully designed and custom-built installation by LOT-EK spanning 17,000 sq. feet featuring a curated collection of elegant shops and luxury boutiques that Bal Harbour Shops is famous for.
Built from thirty custom-built shipping containers, the branded pop-up will include covered walkways with fans, a retractable canopy, and a fine dining restaurant called “The Whitman” that will seat 150 people, with a full bar and lounge. The environment will showcase Bal Harbour Shops’ palm tree motif and garden-like bright green monstera leaf signature design. Koi ponds, fountains, and planters filled with lush greenery along with piped-in music will help bring the entire tropical, Zen-like atmosphere of Bal Harbour Shops to life.
The selected luxury brands will have custom-built, well-lit, air-conditioned modern spaces, either small, medium, or large executed in crisp white with glass fronts. Spaces will be fully fitted with furniture, panels, shelving, and vitrines to highlight merchandise. Boutique sizes range from 250 square feet to 640 square feet or more.
As the third stop on the Access Pop-Up Tour, the South Walton Pop-Up, located on Grand Boulevard’s North Lawn, promises to bring a mix of luxury, fashion, and dining that Bal Harbour is known for, but with a touch of unique coastal elegance that can only be found in South Walton. Throughout the weeks, the Pop-Up will also host weekly events, including a weekday Happy Hour, High-Tea Tuesdays, Après Golf: A Gentleman’s Happy Hour on Thursdays, and a lavish Sunday Brunch.
The Pop-Up will kick off its Grand Boulevard residency with a “Launch Party: Bienvenue Blanche” on Friday, May 24. Guests will delight in complimentary cocktails, Latin-inspired hors d'oeuvres, and are encouraged to wear white to celebrate the grand opening of the Bal Harbour Access Pop-Up Tour. A percentage of all sales made during the event will benefit the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation.
There will be two other signature events hosted by the Pop-Up throughout the summer including “Beach Basel” on Tuesday, June 25 benefiting the Cultural Arts Alliance and “A Floral Farewell Fete: An Evening with the Symphony” on Wednesday, July 17 benefiting Sinfonia Gulf Coast.
“The Bal Harbour name is synonymous with the finest in luxury retail shopping,” said Stacey Brady, Marketing and Communications Director of Grand Boulevard. “This is an amazing opportunity for exposure to the best retail brands in the world and to have them at Grand Boulevard is really special, and unprecedented in our market. We love that the Bal Harbour experience will be synonymous with Grand Boulevard this summer.”
