Keeping you updated on all the happenings at Chef Jim Shirley's establishments in SoWal. Nationally recognized restaurateur Chef Jim Shirley is owner of :

THE GREAT SOUTHERN CAFÉ

Chef Jim uses Southern accents with great skill and spirit, traveling far afield to graze and glean, absorb culinary ideas, select fine wines, and look for pockets of sustainable farming practices. As a Pensacola native, Chef Jim uses his knowledge of local waters and his families’ farming histories to promote “New Ruralism,” a movement to champion sustainable agriculture at the urban edge.

Wednesdays: Paella orders start at 5:30 service at 6:30 pm - Plus, Get Jazzy and Jam Night with the Matt McCarty Quartet from 6-8PM

Special Events at North Beach Social:

Dia De Los Muertos - November 2 - All Day
North Beach Social is hosting an all day event November 2, 2024, featuring Latin inspired dishes and drinks. From 1-4PM, guests will enjoy kids crafts and live music by Ken Johnson. During the evening there will be a photo booth and the Disney movie "Coco" will be playing on the beach.

Thanksgiving Day - Taco and Tequila Night - November 28 - 4-9PM
North Beach Social is hosting a Taco & Tequila Night on Thanksgiving Day from 4-9PM. Come for the Taco Bar, stay for the Tequila! Donnie Sundal will be playing from 6-8PM.

North Beach Social is so excited to offer Family Movie Nights. Every Saturday and Sunday, families can enjoy kids' movies on the beach. In case or rain or other weather issues, movies will be moved to the porch or inside.

Get Jazzy and Jam Night with Matt McCarty & Co.
Every Wednesday 6-9PM - Hosted by saxophonist Matt McCarty and his rotating band of performers, this jazz jam is open to all and an excellent place for experimentation, meeting new musicians and having a chill time on the beach. Come one, come all to play or just hang and groove with the tunes.

Seafood Boil Sundays:
North Beach Social offers a Seafood Boil every Sunday starting at noon. This is an all day event. It's a great time to hang out, watch football, let the kids play and enjoy great food! Plus there is live music Sundays from 1-4PM.

PAELLA Night:
Chef Joyce and her famous dish can be found at North Beach Social and Farm & Fire on Wednesdays and at 87 Central in Seaside on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Orders are taken starting at 5:30 PM and paella is ready around 7:00 PM. Chef Joyce learned her famous recipe while in Spain, which she has continued to tweak over the years to bring some panhandle flair. Her use of chorizo instead of plain sausage adds a little extra spice kick, so this dish is not for the faint of heart! North Beach Social customers can order paella at the counter as usual and receive a ticket for paella. When service starts, customers can grab their plates at the paella stand. Farm & Fire customers can order at their table or at the bar, and it is delivered table side.

Sunday Pickin' at The Bay with Mike Whitty and Friends is from 4-8PM every Sunday. Mike brings in new musicians to play every week. We always post who is playing by Saturday, so check The Bay's Facebook or Instagram pages for details ahead of the event.
