Fashionably Late Boutique Debuts at Uptown Grayton

Amy Huff has been changing outfits four times a day since she was four. These days the owner of Fashionably Late, an upscale women’s boutique located in Uptown Grayton, still looks cute, only she makes sure everyone else shopping in her store does, too.     

Fashionably Late carries clothing and accessories in a range of sizes and brands suitable for women from 18-65. Some pieces, such as the flowy tanks by Matison Stone, are made in the USA. PIck up gold bar necklaces and hoop earrings by Sylvia Benson, leather crossbody bags by Gigi New York and patterened wrap dresses by Britt Ryan, to name a few. 

For Fashionably Late’s opening run of goods, Amy shopped the Atlanta Apparel AmericasMart and brought back clothes that reflect the beach lifestyle. “My goal was to carry different merchandise than other stores,” she said.

Before Amy opened her own boutique, she majored in Fashion Merchandising at Auburn and traveled throughout south Florida as a merchandiser for Tommy Bahama stores. “I felt like I was on a very corporate path and my husband and I wanted to be closer to our friends and family.”  

Reduced stress has been a welcomed side effect of Amy’s career shift from corporate employee to small business owner, and it’s evident in the atmosphere that she has created at Fashionably Late. The bright open space features floor to ceiling windows that let in flattering natural light, cool gray walls and ceilings adorned with low hanging chandeliers that give an air of sophistication. Amy keeps the vibe light and mellow with laid back beach music and clean, fragrant candles.

 
Amy’s mantra, courtesy of Harry Winston, is perfect for a clothing boutique owner, or, well, a jeweler. “People will stare. Make it worth their while.” And it applies to shoppers looking for high-end investment pieces and on trend resort wear alike.

Fashionably Late is located at 36 Uptown Grayton Circle across from Another Broken Egg Café in Grayton Beach. The boutique is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm and Saturday from 9am-4pm.
