Bay Breeze Patio Anniversary & Grilling Expo March 23 & 24

March 9, 2018 by Manny Chavez

The most glorious time of year has returned once again to the shores of SoWal Beaches - rebirth & renewal, joy & beauty - and outdoor living!

Spring is in the air, folks are drifting outside, and Bay Breeze Patio loyal customers are ready for some serious grilling and good times at the Anniversary Event & Grilling Expo March 23-24, 2018. The event will be at the store at 35 Forest Shore Drive, Miramar Beach, just west of Silver Sands Premium Outlets.

“We have been having this party since 2008 and we consider it to be just a big ‘thank you’ party. We’ve been through the ups and downs of keeping our business afloat and our faithful customers have hung in there with us,” explains Susan Kiley, so-owner of Bay Breeze Patio.

Susan, along with husband Wayne Paul, will get the party going at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 23. The party will continue until 5 p.m. and then start up again on Saturday, March 24. The Expo this year will feature premier products and accessories for the ultimate in outdoor living enjoyment. Outdoor living experts will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice. Of course, there will be special sale pricing on Bay Breeze Patio’s brands and in-stock wicker furniture. The sale on items is a three-week sale beginning March 10 and lasting through the week-end celebration (March 23-24) and onto the end of March.

Grilling aficionados will delight in the cooking classes and demos including The Big Green Egg, Fire Magic, and the Green Mountain Pellet Grill. Fire pit and fireplace experts will also be on hand to explain away their wares. Back by popular demand, Scott Simmons from Venice Beach will have a truckload of silk floral arrangements, artificial trees and outdoor art available, all at sale prices, for those seeking attractive, low-maintenance options to beautify patios and outdoor rooms.

Should the weather get in the way for this two-day event, not to worry…this is a rain-or-shine happening and pop-up tents will dot the parking area. Door prizes will be awarded during the event.

Having been in the same location for 14 years now, Susan and Wayne seem to have found the perfect combination of patio offerings…they are simply selling outdoor living at it’s finest.

“We are selling everything to make your outdoor living perfect,” says Susan. “Furniture, outdoor kitchens, accessories, shade…. but, past that, we consider ourselves to be people who bring other people together.  We seem to always be introducing people to other people in our store. This is a nice place to hang out. There are lots of comfortable chairs in here,” laughs Susan.

Although Susan is not a designer, she helps people design and maximize their outdoor space. She routinely meets with clients to walk their outdoor space with them to see what they envision, to figure out what it is they can’t live without, especially for outdoor kitchens.
Although personal customers make up the bulk of their business, commercial clients are also well taken care of. Amenity pools, homeowner association needs, restaurants, retirement communities, condo common areas…all are serviced by Beach Breeze Patio.
“We sell anything from grills, gas fire places, appliances, furniture, umbrellas, pergolas, etc.,” says Susan.

All furniture and accessories can be shipped internationally. They have shipped to Asian markets, the Caribbean, Europe…if you want it, they can get it to you.

“This is a Southern porch market…people in the south want to be comfortable. I want to sell furniture based on comfort, not on looks,” explains Susan. Make no mistake about it, though, everything looks good too! Living near the Gulf, outdoor furniture needs to be able to withstand the elements. Although many consider the SoWal area to be paradise, sun, salt, rain, humidity, and the wind will play havoc with outdoor furniture if not constructed properly.

Susan and Wayne extend their appreciation to the community by sponsoring various foundations including the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, the Seaside Neighborhood School, the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, and Food for Thought. This year they will present their 2018 Eggs on the Beach Eggfest Cooking Competition Sept. 29 at Seascape Resort from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. This unique Eggfest features Big Green Egg grill cookers from all over the country…all competing for the best-tasting dish. Proceeds from the event will benefit two local non-profits, Food for Thought and the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast. Tickets will go on sale in May. For Susan and Wayne, the best part of their job is meeting so many people. Both are very people-friendly and working seven days a week allows for lots of people-meeting. They welcome customers and feel they were born to do what they do. And they do it well…do yourself a favor and check out their showroom. Prop up your feet on a cool wicker and plan on getting real comfortable, real fast!
