Finish your weekend of great food and wine at the Seeing Red Wine Festival with the Celebration of Bubbles hosted by Chef Jim Shirley of Great Southern Café. This sparkling event will be held on November 12 from noon til 2pm on the Seaside Lyceum lawn. The brunch features sparkling wines from around the world, perfectly paired with a walkabout brunch. Treat yourself and friends to a festival afternoon on the coast filled with southern cuisine such as Chef Jim Shirley’s famous Grits a Ya Ya. Blackened shrimp, Applewood-smoked bacon, spinach, Portobello mushrooms and cream laid to rest on a bed of smoked Gouda cheese grits and topped with sweet potato hay. Other dishes on the menu include Chorizo Cilaquiles, chicken and waffle cones, Croque Monsieur, Miso Caesar to name a few. Blood orange mimosas made from Sicilian blood oranges will be served along with sparkling wines from Spain, Italy and California.
Live music will be performed by Simply D'Vyne, a five piece band playing smooth jazz, R&B, Pop.
Nationally recognized restaurateur Chef Jim Shirley is owner of the Great Southern Café, 45 Central, and The Meltdown on 30A in Seaside, Florida, The Bay in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Baytowne Provisions in Destin, Florida. He is also the co-owner of Great Southern Restaurants, which owns The Fish House, The Atlas Oyster House, and The Fish House Deck Bar in Pensacola, Florida.
Chef Jim uses Southern accents with great skill and spirit, traveling far afield to graze and glean, absorb culinary ideas, select fine wines, and look for pockets of sustainable farming practices. As a Pensacola native, Chef Jim uses his knowledge of local waters and his families’ farming histories to promote “New Ruralism,” a movement to champion sustainable agriculture at the urban edge.

Traditionally, Seeing Red's Celebration of Bubbles was held at Great Southern Café on Central Square in Seaside. The new location at the Seaside Lyceum is located just north of Central Square next to Seaside Institute and Seaside Neighborhood School. Look for the big white tent with a little more space for great food, drink and guests for a beautiful day in the heart of Seaside.
SEEING RED WINE FESTIVAL
This fall, reds, whites, and rosés will be uncorked during Seeing Red Wine Festival, four days of wine and culinary events being held in Seaside Nov. 9 - 12, 2017. Now in its 27th year and recognized as one of the “Top 10 Can’t-Miss Fall Wine Festivals” by Fodor’s Travel, the festival draws attendees from around the world who make the trip to the iconic beach town a yearly tradition. This year’s festivities include Bud & Alley's Wine Dinner on Thursday evening, the Gulf Coast to Table Dinner on Friday, the Festival Grand Tasting on Saturday, and a Celebration Of Bubbles Brunch on Sunday, all in coveted Seaside style. Each year has been a sell-out event, and this year will be no exception. Tickets are limited. Attendees will want to purchase their tickets early. Proceeds will benefit the Seaside Neighborhood School and the Seaside Institute.

Gulf Coast to Table Dinner - Friday, Nov. 10, 6 to 9 p.m. SOLD OUT
Chef Ryan Smith of Atlanta’s Staplehouse Restaurant is guest chef for Friday evening’s Gulf-Coast-to-table dinner under the stars. Smith will join award-winning Seaside restaurateur Chef Jim Shirley for this exciting, new-to-Seaside event. Smith and Shirley will team up to feature an elegant evening of locally sourced offerings, personally prepared and selected to complement highlighted wines for an exclusive experience.
Grand Tasting - Saturday, Nov. 11, 1 to 4 p.m. SOLD OUT
Seaside’s Central Square will come alive with quality wines for tasting curated by Seaside’s own restaurants and eateries, hand-selected food offerings chosen by Seaside’s popular and well-known local chefs, as well as live music, and the opportunity to purchase wines on site.

Park and Ride
Guests can take shuttles to and from Seaside for the event. The Seeing Red Wine Festival is offering complimentary shuttles to all guests from the County Public Lot on CR 283 in Grayton Beach. Shuttles will run continuously allowing guests the opportunity to arrive early, stroll through Seaside and stay late for dinner following the event.
