Patrones Hideaway of Grayton Beach Photo Gallery

About this gallery

Patrones Hideaway was a unique compound just on your left as you entered Grayton Beach, fronting Western Lake. Part hangout, part artist colony, and part farm & petting zoo with goats, rabbits, chickens, a giant hog and peacocks. It had a small bar/restaurant with picnic tables and fire pit, rental apartments and artist/retail shacks. It was also the home and playground of Gene & BJ Florence. Many a day and night was spent around the bonfire or out on the dock under the palapa. Sadly it was sold and in 2002 and divided up into residential lots.

Most of the photos here are from March 2002 after the property had been sold, before many of the buildings were demolished and a few renovated and sold as homes in a gated community. The land fronting Defuniak Street was divided and sold to make way for large homes. One of the panorama photos show the exterior of the renovated homes and a yellow and white tent on the dock for an open house sales event on 8/17/02.
