Sharky's Beachfront Restaurant: educational activities, meet a mermaid and dolphin mascot, live music and good eats 5-7pm
Gulf World, Gulf World Marine Institute, Diver’s Den and Sharky’s are joining together to host an all-day World Oceans Day event on June 8, 2018 from 7:00am until 7:00pm. On World Oceans Day people around our blue planet celebrate and honor the ocean, which connects us all! The festivities will start at the M.B. Miller County Pier from 7:00am until 9:00am where the public is invited to do a beach clean-up or dive with Diver’s Den as they clean up the waters around the pier.
Following the beach clean-up, Gulf World will host many family friendly and educational activities as well as photo opportunities and face painting from 9:30 am to 12:30pm. Gulf World will be open for normal operating hours with shows and exhibits.
At 1:00pm Diver’s Den will take a special trip into the Gulf to clean two of Panama City’s favorite diving and fishing spots and invite any interested divers to call the shop to reserve a spot on Wreckreation. Space will be limited.
The celebration will end at Sharky’s from 5:00pm until 7:00pm where kids and adults alike will have a chance to meet a mermaid and GW the dolphin mascot, enjoy educational activities and local art while listening to live entertainment and having a fantastic meal at Sharky’s.
A healthy world ocean is critical to our survival. Every year, World Oceans Day provides a unique opportunity to honor, help protect, and conserve our world’s shared ocean. The public is invited to join in this global initiative for a portion or the entire day full of activities.
