adirondack chairs

I know someone who can make the deep adirondack chairs... They are really nice and really cheap too.

PM me if interested.

Thanks!

My perfect beach
I see adirondacks outside of Scavenger's on 98 each time I drive by. Don't know what size they are.

Go see Dwight in the artists booths at Gulf Place (393/30A). Dwight also makes bar height Adirondack chairs so that you can see over your porch railing. Scavengers, hwy 98, in the post office strip also has them.

We've had bad experiences with wood Adirondacks. When we first moved into the house, we had some gorgeous cypress ones with marine varnish and stainless steel nails. They started rotting within a year. We replaced them with some we bought at a place on U.S. 98. The guy swore that the chairs would last for years. They showed signs of deteriorating within three months (wood started splitting), so we returned them. We gave up and bought the $12 large PVC Adirondacks at Wal-Mart. They've lasted three years. Yes, they might look tacky, but they are renter- and weatherproof.

If anyone knows of an Adirondack that won't cost me hundreds of dollars each (I need 10 of them), is renter-proof, and that will last for years around a pool and on an uncovered porch, I'd be interested.

I found this place on ebay when I was looking for rocking chairs to paint for teacher's gifts at Christmas.

Beach Runner - they are located in Alpharetta (Windward Area), very friendly and very reasonable.

Their shipping is free!
I wonder if they'd withstand beach weather? BTW we salvaged four of the original cypress chairs and took them back to Georgia. They haven't deteriorated a bit in three years in Georgia.

BTW the original chairs were built by hubby. They were beautiful. He does woodworking as a hobby and took a class at Highland Hardware in the Virginia-Highlands neighborhood in Atlanta. The master craftsman there thought he had recommended everything possible to make them last at the beach. Not.

Smith Hawkens has some nice ones in either cedar or teak. I bought some great purple adirondacks on-line. I was lucky they were comfortable. Adirondacks can be really uncomfortable if they are a bad fit. The Smith Hawkens ones fit me well but I am kind of short.

I bought 4 of them online at adirondackchairs.com and have had no problems to date.
They are made out of cedar.
Yes, they are made in China. I paid $70 apiece for them. Three of the chairs I have had within one mile of the gulf for just under a year and they are showing no signs of wear whatsoever.
I bought the cheap ones from this sight. They have many designs to look at. I had to assemble them with an electric screwdriver in about 10 minutes.
PM me if you want to see them and sit in them. I live in SRB.
Sorry local peoples, :blush:but I needed four of them and just couldn't afford the local price.
I built a two-people adirondack "love seat" myself.
If someone has access to materials, I have plans to build from. I priced out purchasing all the wood, and I understand why folks charge as much as they do. There is a lot of wood in one of these chairs.
