:D Hello everyone! I have been reading and lurking on this site ever since I put the money down on our rental. I grew up in Crestview/Baker area but have not been down that way in over 10 years and I know things have changed. First of all I am staying with my 15, 16 and 17 year old teenagers and my husband right there in Seacrest across the street from the big pool, and well we spent a fortune on the house to rent and I know there are a ton of really cool things that don't cost a lot (topsail, Deer lake area) it is just that i can't remember most of it:dunno:! LOL. Like besides renting a boat or waverunners is there any way to get to shell island? I am looking forward to showing my kids the area, I just want to make sure I show them everything I can. Well we have 7 days, March 22 thru March 29th. i am hoping the weather is nice. Any info our advice would be great...they are teenagers so I have my work cut out for me. Thanks so much!

I believe there is a boat that runs trips to Shell Island docked just over the PC bridge on the South (right) side of 98. I'm pretty sure it is the " Ashley Gorman". I think it's about $15 a head---. Never used the service but have seen the sign a few hundred times driving down the road----

St Andrews State Park also runs a shuttle boat from the park. I would call first for times and availability.

There are actually quite a few ways/companies to get to shell island. The best (and most funn in my opinion) is to rent a pontoon boat. Best to reserve one in advance, Aquatic Adventures of PCB rents them.

:Welcome:

Thanks everyone! Also I thought I read that there was a Subway around there, is that true? Is it warming up there?

If it's been 10 years you will not recognize the east end of 30A. If you have a pool I hope it is heated, or it may be to cool to swim. If you are looking for cheaper stuff to do, will have to be in PC Beach area. Of course you have to spend a little time at Pier Park, movie theater if you have a rainy day. I would suggest stopping at the South Walton info center on the corner of 331/98 and then the Panama City Beach info center at the corner of 79/98. Or here is the link to PC Beach info: http://www.pcbeach.org/

Have Funn !!!!

I recommend the St. Andrews State Park boat to shell island. Once you get to the island you can either go on the seaside for outstanding shelling or enjoy a little lagoon on the bay side. The lagoon is a meeting place for local boaters. I have spent many a fun day enjoying excellent music from the boats and floating in luxury...Also fun are the dolphin tours but I don't know whether they still run or not....

There is a Subway shop on 30a towards the west end. Sorry can't be more specific but I think it is not too far from Goatfeathers rest..
Sure they're in the phone book.
