Three high schools in Walton County have been recognized among the top 20% of high schools nationwide in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report “Best High Schools” rankings.
South Walton, Freeport, and Walton High School received an A+ for being recognized nationally for their academic success.
“This is a huge achievement because it shows that we are beyond a traditional high school, but we are also preparing students for life beyond high school. Whether it be dual enrollment, earning college credit or our CTE programs that we offer,” said Nina Borthwick, the principal of South Walton High School.
When students leave the building, the goal is for them to be ready for college life.
