violin instruction near 30-A

We are comtemplating a move to the area but will definitely need violin instruction for 3 children. Does anyone know of a violin instructor near or within a reasonable driving distance to 30-A?

Good luck. I hope you find someone nearby. There is a youth symphony in the area and they might help. Contact possibly the Northwest Florida Symphony and ask about the youth symphony and instructors. My children were cellists. When we first moved back to SoWal ten years ago, I drove from SoWal to Shalimar for instruction (about an hour drive each way). It really depends on the particular level and needs of your child. Sinfonia is one of our best local orchestras that performs in the SoWal area. There is also a community symphony in Panama City affiliated with the Community College that might help with instructors. Depends on which end of SoWal you live as to which local symphony is closer. Local conductor, but of world acclaim, Demetrius Fuller, might also be able to help you. Their local and current contact information will hopefully be readily available online for you. My children are grown and I haven't been in touch with this aspect of the music world for a number of years. With only local violin help in the beginning, Walton County did have the Florida state youth fiddling champion. He is fantastic. Not sure what his title status is now. Anything is possible.

I'm on the board of directors of Sinfonia (thank you so much for your praises Dunelaker!) Liz Aylor is the conductor of the Northwest Florida Youth Symphony Orchestra - I don't know if she is accepting new students, but she most likely is. Her website is Flash Intro Page. Unfortunately, there's no email address listed for her but she is a teacher at Northwest Florida State College; I am sure you can find contact info for her at their website. She is in Niceville, which is closer to the west end of 30A.

I just messaged Demetrius asking about other instructors; I'll post something here when he gets back to me. Not to worry, we've got some incredibly talented musicians in the area, and the youth symphony provides a wonderful opportunity for kids to play.
