So you wanna know about the war huh?
Well here it is.
As the son of a 30 year Army NCO, I read this book with what I thought would be an insight into an Infantry Soldiers mindset and way of thinking, but this delivers so much more than that. SSG Mehlos takes us inside the struggle of good versus evil in the most simple of terms. The things these Soldiers see, taste, smell, and feel on a daily basis are not those seen in the media or entertainment outlets. Trying to fight an enemy who may be a hardened taliban fighter or an 11 year old girl wired for death in an IED vest, these men and women face hell most of us will never know. If you want to read a clean, polished, outsiders account of life at war, watch CNN. But if you want a gritty, first hand account of the reality of war in a place far from family, comforts, and civilized life as we know it, the author has created a must read. Thanks to SSG Mehlos and all who serve for the freedoms you work so hard to provide us at home. This is a book that once you begin, you will not put down.
Come meet the author at Sundog Books.
