The newest exhibition at The Ogden@WaterColor: Picturing The South: People, Land Architecture, Cities opens June 19 and runs through Labor Day.

The photographs are from a variety of well known southern photographers, spanning over 80 years. From Eudora Welty?s images of the 30?s and 40?s to Birney Imes? images of juke joints in the Deep South to contemporary landscape and architectural photographs from Richard Sexton, this exhibition is truly one not to be missed.

The opening reception, which is free and open to the public, is Friday evening (June 19), with featured guest and chairman of the board of The Ogden, author Julia Reed.

The O is kicking off a new weekly event featuring live jazz music and refreshments each Sunday evening from 5 to 8 pm. They plan to have a number of different events throughout the summer, so be sure to check with the WaterColor Inn?s concierge or stop by The O to get the latest and greatest details.

The Ogden?s Center for Southern Craft and Design is a perfect place to pick up something special - from pottery to jewelry to glassworks - all created and for sale by Southern artists.

I used to be a docent at the O in New Orleans...the Ogden's photography collection is not to be missed. The Eudora Welty photos are wonderful, but the Theodore Fonville Winans is not to be missed. How lucky we are to have this exhibition! It's some of the best work from the O.

I agree - Fonville has always been one of my favorites. This entire show is going to be great and I'm so excited that The Ogden lent out these works from their permanent collection.

Sounds wonderful. There are so many beautiful connections between New Orleans and South Walton. The Ogden Museum in SoWal's WaterColor and its exhibits are a fabulous addition to our community.
