Taste of The Beach 2011 - Schedule of Events
Events
This year’s exciting schedule of events includes: Taste of The Harbor, Taste of Bay Wine & Food Experience, Al Fresco Reserve Tasting at Ruskin Place, Seeing Red Wine Festival, a wine maker dinner at Seagar’s, and the Taste of The Beach & Charity Auction.
A collaboration between the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce and Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF), Taste of The Beach combines new and established food, wine and artistic events featuring prized vintners and renowned chefs.

August 26
Vine to Wine… A Wine Preview
600 Grand Boulevard at Sandestin
5:30-7:30, $40 per person
It’s almost time for our kick off event – Vine to Wine at Grand Boulevard! Taste over 250 wines and enjoy amazing food from Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Mitchell’s Fish Market, Cantina Laredo, PF Chang’s, Tommy Bahama’s and Kiilwins Chocolates and Fudge!

Al Fresco Reserve Tasting in Ruskin Place
Ruskin Place, Seaside
6pm – 8pm, $145 per person
In the picturesque town of Seaside amid the art galleries of Ruskin Place, guests will taste a range of highly allocated and reserve wines, dine on sushi and hors d’oeuvres prepared by noted local restaurateur and chef Jim Shirley, and enjoy live chamber music.

UnWineD at Pier Park
Pier Park, Panama City Beach
6:00pm – 10:00pm, $35 per person
Guests will sip exceptional wines and sample savory cuisine prepared by local restaurants while strolling outdoors alongside the many shops at Pier Park.
November 5
Seeing Red Wine Festival
Streets of Seaside
1pm – 5pm, $120 per person
One of the largest events during Taste of The Beach, this picnic-style festival will take over the streets of Seaside, offering dozens of domestic and international red wines to sample while live music entertains.

Pier Park, Panama City Beach
6:00pm – 10:00pm, $35 per person
Guests will sip exceptional wines and sample savory cuisine prepared by local restaurants while strolling outdoors alongside the many shops at Pier Park.

Progressive Vintner Dinner
Seagar’s Restaurant
6:00pm, $125 per person
Seagar’s welcome guests to a specially prepared, multi-course dinner featuring expertly paired wines chosen by a renowned winemaker.

After Dark at Sandestin
Finz at Sandestin
7:00pm – 10:00pm, $50 per person
Gaze and graze. Enjoy this nighttime poolside party under the stars. Celebrate the best in food, cocktails and wine at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort’s Finz Beachside pool deck on Saturday, November 5.

Guests will enjoy an unprecedented combination of food, wine, signature cocktails and show beverage mixology. Featured food, specially prepared by Sandestin’s expert culinary team will include:
~ Sushi sandwiches, Smoked salmon, parsnip/dill cream, goat cheese
~ Stuffed Inari, Crunchy Crab Salad, Sushi Rice
~ Low Country Cajun Jambalaya
~ Bay Shrimp, Crawfish, Andouille and Basmati
~ Chard Hanger Steak Molé
~ Butternut Squash Puree, Tonic 03 Agrodolce, Roasted Garlic and Thyme Potato Crisp
~ Shrimp and Parmesan Grits
~ Brookfarm Lemon Myrtle Pan Seared Scallops
~ Jerusalem artichoke puree, Pimenton & Ginger Nougat, Mirin-Soy Emulsion
~ Autumn Braised Colorado Lamb Belly
~ Cauliflower puree, orange and clove Infused Carrot roll, Potato Curls
~ A dessert zone for desert crafting and table side creations.

Taste of The Beach & Charity Auction
Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, Destin
3pm – 6pm, $35 per person
Taste of The Beach concludes with a silent auction to benefit local childrens’ charities including Sacred Heart Foundation, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, Children in Crisis, and Ronald McDonald House. Guests may bid on fabulous prizes donated from the community and enjoy cocktails and passed appetizers.
