UPCOMING FIREFIGHTER CANDIDATE TESTING!
The South Walton Fire District (SWFD) has opened applications for our next Firefighter Candidate Testing Period. We're accepting applications through May 1, 2024 and eligible candidates will test shortly after the deadline. Candidates will then be contacted regarding firefighter job openings based on their performance at testing.
Please note: The firefighter hiring process now involves three phases, including a computer-based exam, physical abilities test, and interview.
Job highlights include: Competitive compensation and insurance benefits, 48/96 work schedule, firefighter pension plan with DROP option, career advancement opportunities and promotional process, progressive agency with plans for expansion. In 2023, SWFD firefighters responded to more than 9,000 calls for service.
