I'd like to remind everyone of something that makes our area so unique: small businesses. And behind these small businesses are some great owners and employees. I used to be in the 'big box' business before it got to be so big and I can say with experience, I'm glad I'm working and own a small business. I love knowing my customers personally. And on the other side, I love when I walk into a small business and am greeted by a familiar face who is genually glad to see me.
Having said that, I'm supporting our local businesses this Christmas buying season. I hope you do, too. With such a hard economy, I don't want to share my hard earned $$ with a big box who doesn't even know my face.
There are many local small business offering discounts to locals, especially if you work in the area of that business. All you have to do is ask and I'm betting you'll be pleasantly surprised!
