Southern Wine & Spirits to Open Re-Distribution Center in Freeport

The Walton County Economic Development Council (WCEDC) in conjunction with the Walton County Economic Development Alliance (WCEDA) is pleased to announce that Southern Wine & Spirits of Florida, a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc., the nation's leading wine and spirits distributor will be opening a Re-Distribution Center in Freeport. Southern recently closed on a six acre parcel in Phase I of the Walton County Industrial Park at Freeport.

"We are incredibly excited to have such an outstanding company join our community. Southern will not only be an excellent addition to our local area, but will also create new jobs," stated WCEDC Chairman, Donald Brown.

The six acre parcel was the only remaining property owned by the WCEDC in Phase I of the Park. The company plans to construct a twenty thousand square foot (20,000 ft2) facility and sixty (60) new jobs will be relocated to the Freeport Re-Distribution Center.

Since its founding in 1968, Southern is the leading nationally recognized wine and spirits distributor in the United States known for its historic commitment to delivering the highest standards of customer service, creative marketing programs and partnerships.

"WHY GROWTH AND WHY FREEPORT," said Laurence Chaplin, administrative vice president of Southern Wine & Spirits. "We believe that by locating a Re-Distribution Center in Freeport, we will be able to provide a higher level of service that will benefit all of our Trading Partners including our customers and suppliers.
