The Merchants of Seaside, along with our partner Barefoot BBQ, are proud to welcome Joe Firstman as part of the Seaside Summer Concert Series. Joe will be making his Northwest Florida debut on Wednesday, August 3rd in the Amphitheater!
California-based and North Carolina-raised singer-songwriter Joe Firstman has sold over 40,000 albums to date. In 2005, Firstman became the full-time bandleader on “Last Call with Carson Daly” and continued in that role until 2009. Now, two years removed from that gig, Joe is on the road throughout the year performing across the county.
The multi-talented barefoot musician will stomp the ground and his piano keys through a set that is often compared to the sounds of Bruce Hornsby & the Range and The Band. In late 2010, he released “Live At The Treehouse,” and despite the name, the album is not live in the sense of a traditional live album in front of an audience. Rather, it was recorded in the studio with Firstman playing and singing simultaneously to achieve a more live sound in the finished songs.
“Live At The Treehouse” is the follow-up to Firstman’s early 2010 release, “El Porto.” Following the release, Joe toured with folks like Sheryl Crow, Jewel and Willie Nelson. The New York Post said of a recent show from Firstman, “With his piano-powered attack and his rock eclecticism, newcomer Joe Firstman reminds you of Elton John when he was still young. Firstman is the real thing. Look for him as a contender for Best New Artist at the Grammys.”
