The Turn of the Screw
by Jeffrey Hatcher from the story by Henry James
“A ghost story that tells the tale of an apparition appearing to a child always lends the tale a certain ‘turn of the screw.’ But if one child lends the tale one turn, what then can be said of two children? The answer is, of course – two children give two turns.” So begins Jeffrey Hatcher’s stage adaptation of Henry James’ 1898 tale of suspense and horror, “Turn of the Screw,” appearing at the Seaside Repertory Theatre this October.
Featuring returning Rep company members Destin Bass, Meghan Bode, and directed by Rep Artistic Director, Brook Stetler.
A young governess journeys to a lonely English manor to care for two recently orphaned children. But she is not their first governess. She begins to see the specters of their previous caretakers haunting the children, and she must find a way to stop the fiends before it is too late. But one frightening question tortures the would-be heroine: Are the ghosts real, or are they a product of her fevered imagination?
Tickets are on sale now! Tickets are $25 and the show starts at 7:30! The show runs from October 6 thru October 22 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. (no show Oct. 15) You can purchase tickets by going to www.seasiderep.org, at our Amavida Coffee or by calling the Box Office at 850-231-0733.
