Sacred Heart to Host a Variety of Parenting and Childbirth Classes in April
This two-hour class will provide helpful information and recommended techniques to make breastfeeding easier for both mom and baby.
Baby Weigh Day: Wednesday, April 13 at 1 p.m. (free)
This monthly gathering brings together mothers of healthy infants less than one year of age to share stories, tips and laughter while also learning the current weight of their babies.
Baby Basics: Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. Cost: $10
This class highlights how to clothe, bathe, diaper and swaddle your baby in addition to how to recognize signs of illness, use a car seat and feed your baby.
Baby Blues Discussion Group: Wednesday, April 27 at 10 a.m. (free)
This gathering facilitates open communication and support for new moms who might be experiencing the baby blues and post-partum depression. With the proper support, mothers who are experiencing any degree of baby blues or postpartum depression can go on to be healthy, happy parents.
Super Siblings Class: Wednesday, April 27 at 4 p.m. (free)
Entertained by music and special games, children will learn how great it is going to be to be a big brother or sister while expressing their feelings in a positive environment.
Infant and Child CPR: Thursday, April 28 at 5 p.m. Cost: $22
This American Heart Association course includes training in infant and child CPR, first aid for a child who is choking, and additional basic first-aid skills. Each participant will receive a Family and Friends CPR guide.
The mission of the Family Birth Place at Sacred Heart is to provide a high quality childbirth experience, including an environment that fosters family unity without compromising safety; an emphasis on education that supports women and their families from early pregnancy through early parenthood; and guidance through the many choices women and families make during their birthing experience.
