Yeah!!!

Sorry if this has already been posted. Here's an excerpt from the Northwest Florida Daily News article:

Saturday, Restoration Hardware Inc. will celebrate the grand opening of its first 12,000 square foot Clearance Center in the Southeast at Silver Sands Factory Stores.

Restoration Hardware is a specialty retailer that sells textiles, bath hardware, lighting, bedding and home d?cor. As of last October, it operates 100 retail stores, 11 outlet stores, and two clearance centers in 30 states, the District of Columbia and Canada.

But this is Restoration's arrival in Northwest Florida, and Angela Triplett at Silver Sands call it, "a very big deal" because this is a clearance store.

That means goods sold at 40 to 90 percent off the original price. That equates to even lower prices than in the company outlet stores.

"This is a niche that needed to be filled," Triplett said. "It's a natural for our shopping center. Everybody is very familiar with the brand, but before this everyone here would have to go to South Florida, Atlanta or Birmingham.

"We get a lot of visitors from Atlanta and Birmingham, and now they can come down here and find prices at are lower in the Restoration retail stores up there."

And yes, the store is hiring sales and stock associates. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. For more information, call 850-650-0432 or visit Restoration Hardware - Furniture - Bed & Bath.

Triplett and Silver Sands GM Traci Stokes report there are several more stores opening in the near future, and we plan to report on those next week.

We stopped by earlier to see if they had opened softly and they indeed had. It's a true outlet clearance store- lots of piles of seemingly random boxes. Staff said they will have some pictures up of what's in the boxes in the next few days but for now they've got a couple catalogs up front where you can identify item names on the side of the box by if you need to. For the grand opening sale, they're adding another 15% off once reduced price is competed. (mostly 40-60% off retail at this time)

We came away with a kewl Minka ceiling fan for less than $200 (retail about $500) and they had a lot more lamps and lighting fixtures for a nice price point between Hope Depot cheapo and full metal designer. Also a fair amount of bathroom fixtures and soft goods. I suspect that once the local building market picks up again that the store will be a popular place for builders and designers to pick up items for a model or Parade home.

They're supposed to get new shipments in every Wednesday. We'll be checking back in there frequently to see what they've got.
