Hi gang! I need input.

We have been told by our insurance company that our roof's life will run out too close to our policy renewal date (It has been 23 years), and it will need to be replaced before June. I want to try to get some roofers out during the next week for some quotes.

Do any of you have any suggestions for a good reputable roofer in the area?

Wayne Andrews, AAA Roofing in Panama City. Third generation family-owned business. There are two brothers, I used Wayne. After Hurricane Ivan, Wayne removed three layers of old asphalt shingles, replaced the decking and installed a new metal standing seam roof. He fabricated the panels on site, was done in two days. Price was good, too. I found him through a friend, who found him working on a roof in her neighborhood. Liked him and liked his work - she was right. Some of you may recall how hard it was to get a roofer after Ivan, and how sleazy some of them were.
I called him up a couple of months ago, had a small leak. He came out the next day. It was the caulking around the plumbing vent, where a pile of pine needles had accumulated. An easy, no-charge fix with a cheerful attitude.

Same thing happened to us, last April. Our friend who knows everyone (she owns a housekeeping business) recommended Destin Roofers, based on many clients' experiences. We met the owner and had that company do the job in June; skilled, fast, and very professional in all transactions. Best price and cost of estimate applied to the job. Good luck, SC!

I second Wayne Andrews of A and A roofing-850-271-4199 or 850-265-6068. He does the standing seam metal roof, my understanding is with this type you don't have to have the screws replaced every couple of years.
