I haven't posted in a long time, but read often. My husband and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Seacrest tonight. Since we stayed at the Villages, we used the tram service to go to our designated beach area. When we arrived, we wanted to rent our chairs. We were rudely informed that they would only rent the next day as it was too late. We return the next day and rent chairs. The guys in charge of that site were not helpful as other rentals I have used. The next day we came early, and the set up guy yelled at my husband for putting up his umbrella. I mentioned to my husband that there might some ordinance that we were not aware of that prevents the umbrella being up early.
All this background info to say, in 20 years of renting chairs I have never been treated so rudely. The Beach Chair Company may have rights to some areas, but I would not recommend them to anyone with a choice. A smile, simple conversation, or explanation goes a long way to visitors. We love the area, but dislike to see individuals like these we encountered misrepresent the majority.
