A free hurricane preparedness program is being sponsored by UF/IFAS-Okaloosa Extension and Okaloosa Emergency Management. These will be held at the Okaloosa Emergency Operations Center (Niceville NWFSC campus) on Tuesday, May 29th. There will be lots of opportunities to learn more about preparing for a storm!

2:00-3:30 p.m. Pre-Disaster Housing: This workshop will be led by Dr. Randy Cantrell, UF, and is designed for local officials, construction industry and concerned citizens.

5:00-6:00 p.m. Wind Mitigation Workshop, presented by Building Industry Association. Learn from experts on DIY Wind and Hurricane mitigation techniques to safeguard your home

6:00-8:00 “Preparing for a Storm” seminar will focus on preparation methods for the upcoming hurricane season. Topics include homeowner’s insurance, storm-resilient landscapes, home preparation, managing pets during a storm, clean up safety and special information for military families.
