Shelter House's Purses with a Purpose event returns March 26-28 at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. This year is the 10th anniversary of the huge silent auction and sale of new and gently used handbags to benefit Shelter House.

In previous years, the event has featured hundreds of handbags and accessories from major designers, including Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Michael Kors and more.

• Friday March 27: Silent Auction & Sale 4-6pm | free admission
• Saturday March 28: Silent Auction & Sale 10am - 2pm | free admission

Thursday night's Kick Off Party begins at 5:00 for VIP ticket holders and includes bubbly and a full hour to get first dibs on all items. At 6:00 PM, doors open for general admission ticket holders to explore the selection and enjoy complimentary light bites and wine, cocktails and beer. B-Boy Productions, Inc. will bring the energetic vibe for the event and one lady will be named SpokesPURSEn of the Year! Kahn's Furniture & Coastal Decor will be providing a special lounge area for shoppers to sit back and relax with their friends in between shopping.

Tickets for Thursday's event will be available soon! General admission tickets are $20, and VIP tickets are $25 if purchased before March 26.

The doors will reopen on Friday from 4:00-6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM for additional shopping of the remaining items at major discounts. Both Friday & Saturday are free to attend and open to the public.

Purses with a Purpose has raised a total of over $120,000 throughout the years, with funds going directly to programs, counseling and support of survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Okaloosa and Walton counties.

If you would like to donate a gentled used handbag from your own personal collection, there are drop off locations all over the Emerald Coast. (addresses below)

Purses with a Purpose, a signature Shelter House event, returns to Grand Boulevard at Sandestin May 14-16, 2020. Now in its tenth year, Purses with a Purpose has become a must-attend annual shopping experience for ladies across the Emerald Coast. Shoppers at Purses with a Purpose have the opportunity to select from hundreds of new and gently used purses, wallets and accessories up for sale or auction. Handbags from designers including Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Coach and more will be available for purchase.

Festivities kick off Thursday, May 14, and doors open first for VIP ticketholders at 5:00 p.m. where they will be greeted with champagne and have the opportunity to shop through the selection before doors open at 5:30 p.m. for general admission.Luxury and designer label bags will be available for bidding in the silent auction area, and the walls will feature hundreds of handbags for immediate purchase. Attendees will enjoy light bites along with wine and specialty cocktails by Timber Creek Distillery. B-Boy Productions will provide entertainment for this high energy shopping event and the evening will be captured in a fun photo booth. Several weeks before the event, five local ladies are named as this year’s “SpokesPursens” who promote the event and encourage their friends and families to donate to their online fundraising page. The night of the event, one of the ladies will be named “SpokesPursen of the Year” based on the amount of funds raised for Shelter House. Kahn’s Furniture & Coastal Decor will be providing a special lounge area for shoppers to sit back and relax with their friends throughout the night.

General admission tickets are $20, and VIP tickets are $25 if purchased before May 14. Tickets purchased at the door will be $25 for general admission and $30 for VIP.

Purses with a Purpose reopens for bargain shopping on Friday, May 15 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with deep discounts on remaining merchandise, plus muffins, mimosas and free admission. Both Friday and Saturday are free to attend and open to the public.
