Hi everyone! I haven't posted in quite some time...I've been busy with a lot of things and also got a newer computer and lost all of my links to here!
I would like to ask you all for your support for my upcoming walk for the American Heart Assiciation which I will be walking in next Saturday, September 27. Please, if you have a little time, take a minute or two to read my reasons for walking this year! Thank you for your support! ~Pammy~
You see, On January 14, 2008, I suffered a massive heart attack in my home. (Just eight months ago!) I called 9-1-1 and stayed on the phone with them until the paramedics arrived. When I arrived at the Sacred Heart ER, I flat-lined and was resuscitated by them using CPR. I came back to and was then flown to Sacred Heart, Pensacola where I underwent emergency triple bypass surgery.
The pain was unbearable. My ribs were broken during the CPR, my chest had been opened up, my heart taken out and repaired and put back in!!! I also suffered for approximately six weeks after returning home with something called pericarditis. This is when the lining around the heart is filled with water. I made quite a few trips to the ER with that! That’s where I met Ricki…one of my Cardiac Rehab instructors (she’s also walking with me!) She talked to me there in the ER and encouraged me to sign up for the class, which I did. She gets a little giggle when she and I talk about how pitiful I was when we met that day.
