jdarg,

Would your son and a friend be interested? Or anyone else?

We will have 50 bales delivered and they will need spread around the yard. It is about 5 hours of work for Bill and I, but assume teens would not be as fast. Maybe 6 hours of labor. We were thinking to pay $75 for the job.

Let us know. Can answer here or pm.

Thanks,
Rita & Bill

Well, we are blessed with our God-given brains and incomes, and we bring down a trailer, pick up 48 bales of pine needles at Putnall's on 331, and throw down our own pine needles. BTW hubby's boss who is one of Fortune 500's top 50 wealthiest people has holes in the soles of his shoes, lives in an extremely modest house, and wears frayed ties. We just get tired of getting ripped off because people think we are rich.

For example, we need a little touch-up painting done. Hubby described the job to two painters. One painter came out, saw our house, and gave us a quote of $7000. Another painter asked for square footage, we were honest with him, he quoted us $850, he came over and confirmed it, and he'll be painting next week.

Throwing down pine needles is good exercise.

I love when teenagers learn to work. I've sent dozens to camp by hiring them to do pinestraw, sod, cove cleaning, boat washing...my favorite was a few years back when one of my clients wanted to turn a shed into a playhouse. I hired two boys to help and we pressure washed, painted, re-roofed, and completely overhauled it into the cutest little playhouse ever. One of my kids now has a thriving lawn service...

Yes, it is good exercise to do your own work, but if you teach a kid to fish (work) that's some good exercise for the soul, too.

Right you are! Easy physical labor, especially if it's not too hot. Nothing like a few sore muscles to make you feel like you've put in some good work! Ha!

We always get ours at Putnall's too. I love that place! They make it so easy and are trusting. We used to fill up our mini van and make a couple trips. Then we just started having it delivered. Our van said "Thanks!". ;-)
