MediaCom Cable Cut

MediaCom reports they have a cable cut which is affecting internet access in South Georgia and Florida. Yes, they have a single point of failure system....if a chipmunk gnaws through the extension cord behind Phyllis' desk, two states go dark.

So, if you are trying to reach anyone in SoWal via the internets and they are not responding, that's probably why.

Yep, on my broadband card. I love the fact that I have more redundancy then Mediacom. :roll:

Think it may have some how effected Embarq also....I have gotten bumped off so many times this morning I'm about to throw my laptop in the middle of 30A

Yes, I have both services and it seems both are very good.

T-1 fiber optic connection. Starts at the low low price of about $1500 per month. Oh and satellite link, but the latency is killer.
