I succumbed to the lure of the tempurpedic seven years ago and have never looked back. I bought a cheaper off-brand at a mattress store in Pensacola for less than half the price, and I still love it. When I sleep elsewhere, even if the mattress is fantastic, I so look forward to my own bed; it is by far the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on. I have owned a waterbed, a futon, luxurious pillow-top, and random others - nothing else has even come close. After 7 years, it is exactly as it was when I bought it - no sagging, no holes, nada. I do flip it and rotate it at least once a year.

The only con, IMO, is the mattress retains more heat than normal - great in winter, not so great in the FL summer. (Y'all know how much I love being too warm - not.) To help combat this, I use two mattress pads - one is specifically made to keep the mattress cool. It works great, and I sleep with a light down comforter year-round.

Hope this helps, let me know if you want to know more...

I just bought the top of the line Tempurpedic Cloud Luxe and love it!!!!

I've had the basic entry level Tempurpedic for 13 years but it was too firm for me - my husband, however, loved it.

The Cloud Luxe is softer but still firm enough for him so now we're both happy.

Tempurpedic! Ours is about a year and a half old now, just like new, amazing sleep. Carol G is right, after being on the Tempurpedic you will hate all coil mattresses you are burdened with when you travel. We have never had any problem with being too hot, but it does seem to bother some people. I think Miss Kitty had this problem...the good thing is Tempurpedic will let you return it without any hassle for a long time after purchase. We bought ours at the mattress store in Miramar that shares space with the Destin Yarn Shop. By the way, if you have back problems and your doctor writes a prescription for the mattress, sales taxes are waived.

I'll second that, that mattress is incredible and the sex! Woohoo!

Our daughter can't tolerate Tempurpedic due to the heat issue. She is very hot-natured.

Actually we like the two $500 king-sized mattress sets that we bought at the Mattress Outlet in Destin better than the expensive ones we've bought in Atlanta. I don't care if the mattress doesn't match the box springs. Who sees it because the mattress is covered with a sheet, and box-spring covers can be bought?

Whatever you do, don't succumb to the Sleep Number bed. Or maybe ours is just a lemon. Obviously they offer a money-back guarantee, but after you've assembled it, it is pretty much staying where you put it. :pissed:
