March For Misty
Misty Williams is a 32 year-old, married mother of three currently battling stage 4 rectal cancer. Originally diagnosed at stage 3, she has already undergone 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation, and has had 3 surgeries in an attempt to remove the cancerous tumor. Duri...ng the last surgery, Misty's doctors discovered that the cancer has now spread to her lymph nodes and lungs... therefore, upgrading her to stage 4. She did 3 more months of chemotherapy to battle the cancer cells in her lungs and lymph nodes, but unfortunately the cancer spread rapidly. She now has an orange size tumor in the bottom of her left lung, a strawberry size tumor at the top of her right lung and numerous tumors in her right lung. She also now has spots on her liver as well. Misty will begin very heavy chemo, with many side effects, at the end of March. Misty is an incredibly courageous woman. With the Lord's help, she is fighting this battle for her three beautiful daughters, Lauren -9, Londyn - 5, and Logan - 1, as well as for her devoted husband of 10 years, Taylor. Misty has been an inspiration to all of us. Her courage and positive attitude while fighting this vicious disease is an example of enduring life's adversities with grace, dignity, strength, determination, and faith. A lesson for us all. Please come out for a morning of family fun, camaraderie, and to help this courageous woman fight for her life. All registration fees & donations will be a gift to Misty Williams. In addition to the 10K & 5K, there will be bounce houses, face painting & fun for the whole family! Bring the whole family from 8:30am-12:00noon. Please join us on March 27, 2010 in the "MARCH FOR MISTY."
